Flathed animated movie from Blokkhed.

Hi there, a bit slow in posting these days, the day job is a bit busy at the moment, plus I'm trying to get a lot of work onto Alamy as well. But Ihave finally edited together a very rough cut of my Flathed animated movie [above]. This is a long on-going project and may or may not be finished. The little Flathed man is lost on a cuboid world and faces many trials and tribulations. To be continued......

The King. Chess piece. Vinyl Toy. Cinema 4D. Character design. Gothic.

This is how the King will look in the chess set. I have to get the Knight and Castle finished and that will complete that project. The animation work is gradually getting onto YouTube and you can see this above. You are seeing some earlier test work, but as with much of what I've produced it should be out there and seen. There is a bigger amount of work to come with the adventures of the Flathed in a dangerous world!

Chess Set. Character Design. Gothic. Matthew Chattle.

This is the chess set so far with a completely redesigned Queen, I may still alter the colour of her robes, but she fits in well with the look of the Bishop.

Chess. The Queen. 3D. Cinema 4D. Character Concept. Vinyl Toy. Toys.

Here's a test render of the Queen for the chess set. I'm working on the figure and throne at present so this is a work in progress, no textures as yet but it's quite nice to see the pure sculpture.

Chess. Bishop. 3D. Cinema 4D. Character Concept. Vinyl Toy. Toys.

Keep praying, because the Bishop is here and he's thinking bad thoughts. A very bad creature indeed.

p.s.: I know this is part of a chess set, but it could develop into some sort of story-line, I'll keep thinking about it and see where it takes me.

Chess. Bishop. 3D. Cinema 4D. Character Concept.

Better start praying, because here's The Bishop and he's not very nice, not nice at all. He's part of the monstrous chess set I'm now working on. Who's is the first move?

Monster. Ugly Design. Character Concept. Cinema 4D. 3D design.

Another view of this ugglyhed. As I said in the last post it looks like a chess piece so I'm working on the rest of the set.

Ugly Design. Monster. 3D. Concept Design. Blokkhed. Matthew Chattle. Cinema 4D

This was a quick design, a 3D sketch if you like. I use Cinema 4D and the tools are really intuitive [which sounds like a sales pitch, but I assure you it's true]. I start with a cube and a hypernurbs and start dividing and extruding. This ugglyhed was a two day model and texture job. I quite like him, and I thought he looks a bit like a chess piece, so I may well design the rest of the set. If he was in a chess set I think he would be a pawn, but you never know. I'll post some new views later in the week.

Vinyl Toy. Packaging. Concept Art. 3D Design. Blokkhed

A red Bubble Vinyl Toy concept with a box packaging idea. It's a quick render so it's not perfect but it gives an idea of what is possible. I've got to get some more vector illustrations on the way next month, been very busy at work recently. As Mister X said "so much to do, so little time"...actually I'm just a bit lazy, so no excuses, it's back to work.

BLAKKHED. BLOKKHED. Vinyl Toy Concepts. Character Design. Cute.

I've been very busy this month, so not much time left for personal work. But here are two new views of the Blakkhed vinyl toy concept.

Vinyl Toy. 3D. Cinema 4D. Plastic. Toys. MOO.com

I think this creature is called 4Nekk, as he has [sort of] four necks. I seem to concentrate on primary colours and red in particular. I have to explore more textures and colours in future, but I suppose I like red..
I'll keep posting ideas for vinyl toys and I hope you like them.

Ps: Had to put a link in Cool Stuff for Moo.com I had heard about them, they print cards from your own [or others] images, the prices seemed incredibly good value. I thought I'd give them a try. The quality is excellent, and they were quick-only ten days after uploading them I got the cards in the post. Check them out.

3D. Cinema 4D. Bandai. Gundam. Blokkhed. Robot. Toys. Model Kit.

Blokkbot as a Bandai model kit? What a great idea! It's great fun to work on concepts such as this, I really want to develop more designs for this robot, I just keep getting into other work and he keeps getting put on the back burner. But, I will do some designs for more armour and different configurations and vehicles, but there are unfortunately not nearly enough hours in a day.

Bubbles. Vinyl Toys. Concepts. Cinema 4D. 3D Design.

Vinyl Toy concepts based on my 'Bubbles' characters. I'm working on many different ideas at the moment, which is why these posts keep jumping from one idea to another, I will be putting up some images of the vehicles I'm creating, but I like these characters as well. I want to expand these vinyl toy ideas a lot more so I hope you like them.

Cinema 4D. 3D. Concept Art. Design. Motorbike. Chopper

Here are some new renders of the chopper with new materials [I'm learning] added. I'm now working on a very, very large vehicle, a sort of monster truck military style for the blokkbot. To give you an idea of the size, there'll be a door in the wheel rim and the tires would be approximately 40 feet in diameter. Its a good project to give me more experience with texturing and materials, I'll try and post some 'in progress' files to show development.

Cinema 4D. 3D Character Design. Lord Darkk.

This is the first test image of a new character I'm working on. This is 'Lord Darkk', he's modelled in Cinema 4D and textured with Bodypaint. He is my first 'organic' character and I'm pleased with this so far, he's going to be somewhat Gothic and a bit of a Dandy. There's clothing and environments to work on and I'll post more versions as he develops, this could be a major project which I'm looking forward to working on.

Little Red Hed. 3D Modelling Animation. Carrara.

Another still of the Little Red Hed being intimidated by these evil steel men. I'll keep putting up some images from this project. Carrara is a good software and is nice to use. It's a good one to start with so I recommend it. This scene show the little man in the steel world, he also lands in a stone world a water world and an ice world [among others]. This is one of those 'unfinished' projects that i seem to have, I'm too busy with the Blokkhed Robot at the moment [working on more vehicles and environments at the moment], but I hope to resurrect him one day.

The Little Red Man. 3D Characters. Hed.

This is a little red man and he's having trouble with these steel men. I worked on a now [temporarily] abandoned 3D animated film telling the adventures of this little Hed. The story has him landing on a world with Heds made of different materials-stone, metal, ice etc. In this image he is in a world of steel heds. I worked with Carrara software which is a good one to work with. I did an enormous amount of work on this project but other things got in the way so I hope to go back to it one day.
I may continue with this project at some stage and I'll post some more examples as and when I get the chance-and maybe some clips.
