The Laboratory. Robot. Blokkhed. Matthew Chattle. Concept art.

This is a close-up of the Blokkbot robot in the laboratory undergoing some sort of devilish process that involves him being immersed in boiling liquid, a process so complicated even I don't understand how it works.

Robot. Science Fiction. 3D. Cinema 4D. Blokkhed.

This is a render [with Cinema 4D] and Photoshop image of my Robot in his escape from the city. Yet again this is a project that has stalled somewhat. I developed a backstory for the robot and his origins, I hope that posting this will make me get more work done on this.

3D Design. Character Concept. Creature. Cinema 4D. Sculpture. Matthew Chattle

Here is a new character concept. This was two day sculpture, although I don't work solid each day, so it is more like a six hour piece of work. It started out as a Vinyl toy design and looked like becoming a bunny, but seems to have become a bat like creature design. I like taking an idea for a walk to see what will happen, it can surprise me sometimes where it will go, good fun to do. I may well add texture at some point.

Chess Set. Cinema 4D. Concept Art. The King. Character Design. Gothic. Matthew Chattle.

A new design for the King. It seems that I keep changing his design, I suppose at some point I'll settle on one, this does seem more in keeping with the Bishop and the Queen, so it might well be the one.....

The King. Chess piece. Vinyl Toy. Cinema 4D. Character design. Gothic.

The King from the ongoing chess set project. He's a bit late in coming but I've been a bit busy recently. There is still some work to do on him but I like the face design. I'm starting some sculptures of the Bubbles figures and I intend doing some limited edition resin versions, that's all in the 'planning' stages at present, but it's something I'm aiming to do in the near future.

Chess Set. Cinema 4D. Concept Art. The Queen. Character Design. Gothic. Matthew Chattle.

Well as promised in the last post, I've put the Queen into new colours and I think she looks more regal now. I can't understand how I liked the previous colour, well you live and learn..

Chess Set. Character Design. Gothic. Matthew Chattle.

This is the chess set so far with a completely redesigned Queen, I may still alter the colour of her robes, but she fits in well with the look of the Bishop.

Character Design. The Queen. 3D. Cinema 4D. Concept Art. Creature. Monster. Blokkhed. matthew Chattle.

This is another test of the Queen from the chess set. It's funny but two weeks ago I had never considered designing a chess set, the idea just grew naturally. One idea leads to another, which is fun to do. This character is much more complex than the Bishop, although I want to keep the designs similar or at least related in some way. More to come in the next few days.

Chess. The Queen. 3D. Cinema 4D. Character Concept. Vinyl Toy. Toys.

Here's a test render of the Queen for the chess set. I'm working on the figure and throne at present so this is a work in progress, no textures as yet but it's quite nice to see the pure sculpture.

Chess. Bishop. 3D. Cinema 4D. Character Concept. Vinyl Toy. Toys.

Keep praying, because the Bishop is here and he's thinking bad thoughts. A very bad creature indeed.

p.s.: I know this is part of a chess set, but it could develop into some sort of story-line, I'll keep thinking about it and see where it takes me.

Chess. Bishop. 3D. Cinema 4D. Character Concept.

Better start praying, because here's The Bishop and he's not very nice, not nice at all. He's part of the monstrous chess set I'm now working on. Who's is the first move?

Monster. Ugly Design. Character Concept. Cinema 4D. 3D design.

Another view of this ugglyhed. As I said in the last post it looks like a chess piece so I'm working on the rest of the set.
